Easy 2-Ingredient Raspberry Coulis
Need a delicious fruity topping for your dessert? This versatile, quick, and easy 2-ingredient Raspberry Coulis (sauce) is perfect for cheesecakes, ice creams, waffles, pancakes, and so much more.
We had a meeting for our Young and Married group yesterday, and I made a no-bake chocolate cheesecake as my dessert contribution. It was made with 70% dark chocolate, so it was intensely chocolaty and much-loved by hubby, a huge fan of dark chocolate, and I have recently converted his. 🙂
Whenever I make a dark chocolate dessert, he often requests that a fruity sauce be served with it. So, I make sure I have raspberries to make a quick and easy coulis (the fancy French term for “sauce”) to accompany his chocolaty dessert.
He loves how the fruity sauce cuts on the chocolate’s richness but simultaneously enhances the dessert’s overall flavor! I completely agree, as the sauce drizzled on top often brings any delicious dessert over the top.
This led me to think that I ought to make a post on this super-easy sauce because it is so versatile. It’s not just the perfect complement for chocolate desserts; it’s great as a topping for ice cream, cobblers, waffles, pancakes, etc.
Did I mention it was super-easy? Yup, simply puree the fruit with sugar and then strain (to remove the seeds unless you don’t want to), and voila, a deliciously sweet-tangy sauce is born! You can use other fruits, too, and during winter, some partially thawed frozen berries work well, too.
If you want to give your dessert an extra fruity boost, I suggest drizzling this sweet-tangy raspberry coulis on top!

I bet this would be delicious poured over panna cotta or vanilla ice cream too!
Yes, it's really perfect Ali as I just drizzled this all over the vanilla ice cream I had for dessert yesterday! 🙂
Yum! I love raspberry coulis and it is SO easy. I recommend with honey, too, but yours looks amazing!
Sometimes I make this with honey and add a squeeze of lemon juice too so I agree that is equally delish, Alisa. Thanks!
I love this! Yet another crazy simple sauce to add to my arsenal. I'm going to have to try this over waffles and ice cream!
Please enjoy Jerry – and it's really good with ice cream!
I make this all the time when I do chocolate desserts! Especially David Lebovitz's Chocolate Idiot Cake. Such awesome raspberry flavor! Yum!
Chocolate and raspberry sauce are a marriage made in culinary heaven! 🙂
gah!! I'm posting a similar recipe on Monday (although mine is a bit different). Love that yours has just two ingredients; it's all you really need for something like this. So much flavor and so many great uses for it!
I opted for the easy one Kristy hahaha and have to try your version, too! Thanks for stopping by!
I was just about to ask what a coulis was 😉 I love how it's just fancy French. I like fancy French! The next time I make an overly sweet recipe, I'm trying this out on it!
Please enjoy Arman and it would be perfect with any of your fantastic chocolate desserts!
