Melted Snowman Sugar Cookies
Making these Melted Snowman Sugar Cookies are a fun way to enjoy holiday baking with family. Everyone will enjoy making their own cute and delicious snowman cookies. From-scratch sugar cookies and royal icing recipes are provided here but you can make a shortcut by using store-bought varieties, too.
During the holiday season, I make it a point for my daughter and me to do some fun holiday baking together. I remember when she was still a toddler we made some gingerbread house. It wasn’t the prettiest but, together with my sister who was visiting us at that time, we made so many sweet memories as we happily built the gingerbread house!
Since there was a scheduled fellowship meal at our church last Sunday, I convinced her that we should make some holiday cookies that we could bring to that potluck lunch at church.
Without much debate, we decided to make some cute melted snowman cookies!
It made sense. After all, I already have a tried and tested recipe for delicious sugar cookies and royal icing to use.
The rest would just be using our creative imagination to make an adorable melted snowman! My talented daughter rose to the occasion and made these fabulous cookies.
Aren’t they the cutest?
So I may be biased but some folks from our church did say that the cookies were too cute to eat. For those who enjoyed the cookies, they did say they were delicious! It’s a win-win.
So before the holidays are over, make sure to include a batch of these fabulous melted snowman cookies! They’d be a hit wherever you bring them!

WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS FOR MELTED SNOWMAN SUGAR COOKIES?
- Sugar Cookies Recipes (homemade or store-bought), See notes for a link to sugar cookies made from scratch
- Royal Icing Recipe or store-bought cookie icing or glaze, See notes for a link to sugar cookies made from scratch
- 1 pack of large marshmallows
- 1 pack Reese’s Mini Peanut Butter Cups
- Pretzel sticks for arms
- 1 pack of M&Ms for decorating
- 1 tube black Decorating Gel
- Orange Sprinkle for decorating
HOW DO YOU MAKE THESE MELTED SNOWMAN SUGAR COOKIES?
- Bake the sugar cookies as directed in the recipe or in a store-bought cookie mix. Cool down.
- Make the royal icing (if making it from scratch). Glaze the cookies by drawing a “snow puddle.” For convenience, you may draw the outline of the puddle first, then go back and fill in the shape.
- While the icing is still wet, place a marshmallow on one side of the cookie. That would serve as the snowman’s head. Place one Reese’s mini on top of the marshmallows to serve as a hat. Use the icing as glue to hold the hat in place.
- To make the arms, cut stick pretzels into the desired length. Place on both sides of the cookie just under the marshmallows. Place some M&M chocolate candies (2-3 pieces) in the remaining snow puddle (they should look like buttons).
- Once the icing has set, draw eyes and mouth using black gel on each marshmallow. Use the orange sprinkle as the carrot nose.
- Allow cookies to set for at least one hour before serving.
