Ham with Honey-Marmalade Glaze

A delicious and easy glaze to jazz up your favorite ham this Easter or for any holiday. Honey and marmalade with some Dijon mustard give this glaze such a distinct and tasty flavor!

I am so delighted to tell you that I am spending Easter 2018 here in Manila, Philippines with my family!! Yay! I am in the Philippines right now for a business trip but certainly, it’s laden with pleasure when I can spend Semana Santa (Holy Week) and a few more with my dear family especially as I don’t often see them, usually in a span of 2-3 years in between.

So, please pardon if my posting would be intermittent for the next few weeks but I will try my best to update you with recipes and perhaps even some photos of my travel. In the meantime, here’s a delicious and very easy glaze recipe for your Easter Ham!

The glaze comes together so quickly and it’s just a matter of mixing all the ingredients. What’s more, it’s adjustable to your taste so feel free to add a bit of this and that until you have it exactly to your liking.

So go now and grab your favorite fully cooked ham and heat it up and add this tasty glaze at the end. And remember that the key to serving the perfectly warmed-up ham is to reheat it gently so it stays moist and tender and doesn’t dry out.

The extra water and citrus in this recipe also ensure you have a moist and not a dry ham. Easy-peasy yumminess!

Ingredients

  • 8 pounds Spiral Ham, fully cooked
  • 1 Orange, sliced
  • 1 cup Water

For the Glaze

  • 3 tablespoons Honey
  • 1/4 cup Marmalade
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Dijon Mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper, freshly ground (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325 F.
Place the orange slices in a roasting tin; add the water. Place a roasting rack on top, if using, and position the ham on the rack with the cut-side at the bottom. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 15 minutes per pound or until its temperature internally reaches 140 F. This ham took about 2 hours to be fully heated through.
  • About 15 minutes before the ham is done, mix all the glaze ingredients. Glaze the ham all over, return the pan to the oven and increase the heat to 400 F. Continue to bake for another 5-10 minutes or until the crust looks slightly crusty and caramelized.
  • Let ham rest for 30 minutes. Enjoy. 🙂
